It is a common myth that the United States is unreachable for many Cypriot students.  Yes, it is further to travel from Cyprus and yes, the tuition costs may seem high but there are universities and funding opportunities for almost everyone.

The United States is home to more international students than any other country in the world, the figure is currently at 1,000,000, and increasing each year.   The most popular field of study for international students is Business and Management, with Engineering in second place.  However, there are amazing educational institutions for the arts, humanities, languages, sciences, health professions, physical life sciences, agriculture and so on.  The United States spends more money on research and development than any other country in the world.

Many students from Cyprus have gained admission to U.S. universities all over the United States and each student has had very positive experiences. The U.S. system of higher education is flexible and varied with many fields of study and universities to choose from.  Yet, it is not only the top-notch education offered in the U.S. but a rich cultural experience and the diverse student population at many American Universities offers a unique opportunity to interact with students from all over the world, learning from different cultural and educational backgrounds.

The aim of the StudyUSA Program is to help students who are seriously interested in starting their undergraduate studies in the U.S. in Fall 2018 prepare for and apply to U.S. colleges and universities. This program, which will run until Spring 2019, includes:

  • Training in U.S. university-application related areas such as Effective Personal Statement Writing, Filling in a U.S. University Application and other training sessions;
  • Detailed assistance in university selection and tips on locating financial assistance;
  • Pre-departure orientation in Spring 2018
