Internships/PCT

StudyUSA Higher Education Consultants Ltd. (StudyUSA) together with CIEE, a U.S. leader in educational exchange, is offering the Internship, Professional Career Training and Internship Placement Plus Programs to students interested in working short-term in the U.S.

What is the INTERNSHIP (INT) and PROFESSIONAL CAREER TRAINING (PCT) Program?

Both programs give you the opportunity to gain invaluable work experience in the United States, for up to fourteen months as an Intern (INT) and up to 20 months as a Professional Career Trainee (PCT). The Internship program is for students who are still studying or who have just graduated and the Professional Career Training Program is for students with some work experience. StudyUSA is the official representative of CIEE, the largest educational exchange organization in the United States, and it is through CIEE that we are able to offer both these programs in Cyprus.   To read about these CIEE programs in detail, please visit their website.

The Internship (INT) Program and Professional Career Trainee (PCT) programs do not include job placements (the Internship Placement Plus program below does) and students must have already secured their job placements on their own before applying. Please read CIEE's suggestions on how to secure an internship here. CIEE also keeps a list of available internships on their website here. We have had students secure internships through these suggestions so please do not be discouraged! We have also had students secure job placements through their universities in Cyprus so please also speak to your professors.

Students who would like a program including job placement should apply for the Internship Placement Plus Program below.

What is the INTERNSHIP PLACEMENT PLUS PROGRAM?

Have you dreamed about working in Boston, New York or San Francisco? This year, together with CIEE, we are also offering an internship program that includes a job placement in one of these major U.S. cities (Boston, New York or San Francisco). With a proven placement process that takes into account your  experience and strengths, CIEE and the Internship Placement Plus program can connect you with innovative, industry-leading host organizations in these three major cities in the U.S. CIEE will match you with the right opportunities and help you secure a position that meets your unique academic and career goals! This program provides:

  • Personal matching and placement
  • Full-time opportunities on a semester, summer or customized basis
  • A network of host organizations in three of the top U.S. cities: Boston, New York and San Francisco
  • Assistance with your housing search

At the time of application, students should specify whether they are interested in a paid or unpaid internship. Paid internships must be longer than 6 months. Students interested in staying in the U.S. less than 6 months should be prepared to accept an unpaid position and cover all their expenses while in the U.S.

Once the application is submitted, CIEE will work to find a job placement for the student in either of the three cities, Boston, New York or San Francisco, depending on the field they are interested in.  This program has an additional fee and students who apply should be prepared to cover some of their expenses while in the U.S. even with a paid internship because the cost of living in these three major cities are very high. Please note that you can gain invaluable work experience in your field with this program and it will make you more competitive for future full employment opportunities. This is an opportunity to invest in your future!
